Our mission is:

• To invest in the cultural future of our region by fostering music education and music appreciation in our young people.
• To make available to young people our valuable resource of professional musicians.
• To accomplish our mission through active cooperation with other arts, civic, educational and philanthropic organizations.

We would like to educate young children, beginning at the elementary school level, and continuing up through pre-college.

Our mentors will educate elementary school children in the value of a future career as a musician by speaking for career days.

The focus of their presentation will be:

• How our mentor chose to become a musician.
• What our mentor’s early education was like.
• What our mentor’s life is like now as a professional musician.

For those young people who already have an interest in music, our mentors will work with them in a variety of ways, including:

• Private coaching
• Group lessons
• Ensemble coaching

In the future, we hope to expand our program by creating relationships with professional musical organizations that will allow rising young performers an opportunity to play within their ensemble. In this way, the young musician will gain much valued experience and begin to establish themselves within the community.

Our union is not capable at this point of accepting non-profit donations from interested parties, however, we are in a conversation with Working Partnerships to create such an arrangement. Please contact us if you would like to donate to our cause. We will keep you updated as to our status in setting up an arrangement along these lines.
